Lately, it seems as though people are moving towards painting their walls a greige paint color or adding color back onto their walls. Yes, gray was a crazy popular color a few years ago in home decor. Sometimes it looks like a true gray and sometimes it looks a tad bit greige depending on the room and lighting. I used some left over Silver Drop to paint my son’s room and coordinated it with Behr Calligraphy. It pairs well with so many other paint colors. It looks different in every room depending on your lighting It looks almost white but looks good with everything including white. Silver Drop is a very very light gray with warm undertones. But this time I had an amazing designer to back up my decision. I went for it, again without testing it on my walls. I was thrilled that a real designer finally recommended a Behr paint color. But I knew where there was a Home Depot (and TJ Maxx/Hobby Lobby/Target. We were new to the area and I had no idea where there was a Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams store. And it looked like the perfect paint color.

That’s my fool proof way of picking paint colors for my home. ~Do what I do and just stalk your favorite designers/bloggers. Picking the perfect gray can be very tricky. I knew I wanted to lean towards gray on my walls but not a cold gray or a true gray. We did sell the house but not because I hated the color of the walls…that might have been one of the reasons though.įast forward 10 years later….we were in our new home and I had Pinterest…and a bunch of amazing designers/bloggers that I stalked on social media. But I let the painters paint the orangeish beige color on all of my 2 story walls in our old home hoping that one day I would like the color. The color I picked might have been the worst color ever. I went to Home Depot and did eeny meeny miney moe to 153 different shades of beige. (Seriously, what did we do before Pinterest was around?)
Back before Pinterest, when we lived in our old house, I did it the old fashioned way. I know I have said this before but picking the perfect paint color is hard, very hard. All about Behr Silver Drop and why I think it is the prettiest color
